Introduction

SUMMARY OF 1962-1975

The time period from 1962 to 1975 was an important era in united states history. During John F. Kennedy's presidency, the united states got involved in the Cuban missile crisis and in the conflict in Vietnam, in term of the cold war between the U.S and the Soviet Union. Later on JFK gets assassinated and LB Johnson takes over office.
The civil right movement, with leaders like Martin Luther king, and Malcolm X had a huge impact on the American society. Racial segregation got abandoned in response to the civil right movements and more people took pride in their culture. NASA brought the first man on the moon with the successful launch of Apollo 11, in term of the space race against the Soviet Union. Nixon get elected as president, but people became angry at him for the Watergate scandal and were frustrated due to the oil embargo crisis. The U.S  citizens didn't trust Nixon anymore and wanted him to resign, which he finally did. That made him the first president to resign in office.
