Poems

Who was it that carved civil rights?
Rosa parks on her famous bus
or was it someone else?
Abraham Lincoln with his proclamation?
MLK with his dream some day?
No
they merely were the spark that started the fire
that the white mans hate fuled.

What went through your mind?
All those years wasted in your struggle to bind
Lost to those you found to be trash
Left in the face of your defeat
All you worked for, no one can see
Can you see now the error of your ways
Everything is integrated your struggle was a passing haze

Look to see the sun is riseing
the new day shows no sighns of shineing
through the streets the children crying
for peace and for meaning
why are we labled
when will we be equal
the children continue to say
Answering as best I can and tell them to hope for a better day
the sun sets once again
the children go to bed praying for a brighter day

Rally through the streets
hear your brothers feet
stand together dont fall behind
this is our time
push on through the streets
rally for your childrens sake

The hate I cant escape
the fire that refuses to die
the riots that continue
and the politicians that lie
these are the challenges that we face
help each other through this age
for together we stand
together we rise
through the ashes
through the lies
